This year’s Town Hall Breakfast brought together 120 people with 18 candidates up for election in the 2018 Mid-Term. The Arc of Larimer County, Foothills Gateway, and SummitStone Health Partners are proud to collaborate on this event.

The morning kicked off with a buffet breakfast and welcome notes from each host-organization. Leadership welcomed community members, staff, and individuals with disabilities, making note of the rights and responsibilities of all citizens to participate in the legislative process.

For this first time, the host organizations asked candidates to answer questions prior to the event. This process left more time for audience questions to take place.

Community questions covered topics including:

  • Employment for people with disabilities
  • Affordable & accessible housing
  • The crisis response system
  • Mental health supports
  • Service animal rules and enforcement.

To help increase comfort with the voting process, Larimer County staff set up two accessible voting booths on-site. Staff were busy for most of the event answering questions and demonstrating use of the booths.

We are proud to see so many people participating and getting ready to exercise their right to vote in this Mid-Term Election!
